Brief Description:  More Snorkle and Cowl Hinge Work

I continued working the snorkle for a good portion of this work session. I cut out the portion of the snorkle that I felt needed to be replaced due to modifying it with heat which caused weakness.

After doing so I took out some of my clay supply and made a mold of the area that I needed to make a plug to fill. The plug needed to be made with a concave in order to clear the engine parts that caused the snorkle to be modified in the first place. So after being satisfied with the mold I laid two layers of fiberglass onto the mold and worked it into shape. I am not very versed in this clay mold process but have given it my best shot.....if at first I don't succeed I will try try....again! I set the mold aside to cure.

Next I went outside and drilled out the bottom cowl hinges where I had marked them for allowing the pro-seal to help hold the rivets to keep the hinge solid in the years to come!
