Brief Description:  Working the Right Inlet Baffle Ramp

I am continuing to move to the forward part of the baffling. I worked on the right side engine inlet baffle which seal the area in the front where the cowl transitions to the ramp and directs the airflow as smoothly as possible into the engine for cooling.

I got the parts through the process of match drilling and deburred. The inlet baffle has to have a hole that fits the oil line that goes to the rear mounted propeller governor to the nose of the engine area. This is normally a stainless steel line on the Lycoming engines. My Superior engine has a flex hose that has a large teflon collar around the ends.

I cannot use the rubber grommet supplied with the baffle kit so I made a hole to fit the hose through. I will have to make it somewhat oval shape then seal around the area with some material or method to be determined at a later date.

I also drilled the holes through the rear baffles for the engine mounted attachment bracket.
