Brief Description:  Fittings and Starter Cable

Having made the decision to place my FT-60 Red Cube fuel flow transducer in the bottom part of the engine I am working on getting it positioned properly so I can measure and order the lines.

One problem is that the fuel servo and fuel flow divider both have 1/8 threads and AN-4 connections. The red cube transducer has 1/4 threads which means it needs to be reduced down to the AN-4 connection on each side of the cube inlet and outlet. I wasn't sure if this would have any changes on the transducer accuracy(not that there is any choice in the matter) so I gave a quick call to Electronics International and spoke to the technical support......they confirmed that it was not a problem as long as both sides are reduced.

The support guy Dave also suggested a company AN Plumbing.com which I searched for a while before ordering two stainless steel fittings....a straight reducer and a 45 degree elbow reducer fitting. Those should get me where I need to go and get the job done.

Then in looking at the positioning I also realized that the loop for the starter cable just wouldn't allow for enough clearance for me to be comfortable. I cut some lacing and got a little more slack to make a bigger loop but it wasn't enough.....I ultimately started cutting lacing and removing clamps and removed the starter wire. I have enough red left over to make a longer cable.
