In the last session with Ralph we couldn't seem to get the GTN-650xi to speak to the PFD & MFD for COMM 1. All we got is big RED X's where COMM 1 and NAV 1 should have been displayed. I called Tim Haas at Approach Faststack(AF) and we began to work the issue.
AF is the one who made the harnesses. Tim patiently went through a bunch of configuration with me. Then he had me pull out the GTN-650xi from the tray and take a photo of the connectors on the back of the tray. He found one connector 1002 that needed some attention. I followed his instructions and before long had the box back in the tray. A little more configuration and bingo COMM 1 is up and running!!! It took a little over 1.5 hours to go through the troubleshooting. Thanks to Tim Haas and gang there....they have been excellent folks to work with and very responsive to any issues!
Next I made up spacers that I am going to use to lift up the dimmer unit under the TCW Battery due to the connectors on the GMA 245 Audio Panel being close to interferring with the dimmer unit. I made them out of some plastic stock I have in the shop.
It always feels good to get nagging issues resolved!
