Brief Description:  Canopy handle and GIB Stick wiring

I received my handle back from the welder today. I did not want to practice my welding skills on the handle so I found a local shop and dropped it off last week. They called today and said I could pick it up. I put two pics below to show the difference between the stock handle and the modified handle. The idea came from my friend Rick. There is no need for the massive profile of the stock handle so I liked Ricks idea and modified mine. The shop did a decent job of welding (better than I could have) but I ended up working a couple hours on it to clean up some of the welds. Now I will send to Rick as he offered to get powder coated in "red" since he is re-powdercoating his.

I moved on to the GIB stick. I had positioned the control column into place with the bearing ends. I sat in the cockpit and temporarily installed the stick and played with the wiring to see how I was going to loop it as well as the best location to bore an exit hole for the wiring.

My GIB stick will only have a push-to-talk (PTT) button so only two wires exiting the stick. I bought a small assortment of rubber grommets some time ago and found one that would be perfect. I bored a hole a little bit offset to the right of the stick where the wires will run and be secured to the control column with an adel clamp. The trick is keeping the wires away from tangling in the stick as it is moving. Not too difficult just trying to get the wiring to do the least moving as possible and make natural bends in the wire.
