I needed to get the skin on the aircraft dimpled for riveting the doublers in place. The best tool (maybe the only tool) to do this are dimple dies. They use a pop rivet gun and the dies have a hole that you insert a nail into and slide it through the hole to be dimpled, then slide the other part of the die on and slide it into the pop rivet gun and squeeze to form the rivet dimple.
In this case it was near impossible for me to be able to get the dies on each hole and then reach the other end to get the other die and squeeze the rivet gun. So my bride readily agreed to assist me in the process.....she is a great helper!
After getting the dimples done and Kathryn going back to her other activities, I took the doublers out to the shop and sprayed a coat of primer on them.
