Brief Description: GPS Antenna Mount doubler, inventory, ground bus
With my back healed up mostly I was able to jump in the cockpit and sit facing the rear while I riveted the doubler in for the center hole where the GPS connector will pass through. I had to be very careful as the rounded surface of the turtledeck is .025 aluminum which bends fairly easy. So taking my time and setting up on each rivet before pulling the trigger was imperative.
With that completed I opened up the 1/4 inch hole in the doubler to match the 5/8 hole in the mount. I then got the parts and installed the mount permanently this time.
Next I moved on to the instrument panel ground bus. I finished drilling and deburring the holes and installed the hardware to mount the bus bar. The 5/16 inch brass bolt that is given with the bus was rather long so I took 3/8 inch off the length.....much better!
