Brief Description:  Attach Brackets to Panel - Backup Battery Bracket

Spent a good day working in the shop today. I started with getting all the brackets I had to make as well as the G3X brackets riveted to the panel for mounting the expensive hardware.

I had to make a little more clearance in the top left hand corner of the instrument panel frame for the corner of the Flight Data instrument I am putting in the airplane. The frame needed a little more material removed because the corner was hitting the frame and preventing the attachment holes to align in order to attach the screws. Fixed!

Next I made the final decision on where to mount the TCW backup battery for the avionics. Because of the weight I wanted it to sit upright and the positive "G" weight to be on the mounting plate. I considered places to hang it on a vertical side or member....but I there were no great places and I just didn't like the g-force leverage that the mass of the battery would have hanging from a side panel.

So I found a "place with space" where I could mount one side on the rear baggage support member and then made a bracket to attach to the other support member behind the instrument panel. Worked out great and it has a firm mount with the g-forces acting on the mount pad.

I began to do some figuring on where to mount the dimming rheostat unit....that should be the last item to find a place!!
