Brief Description: Fairings joined and Horizontal stab
I started by sanding the micro off the horizontal stab on the fiberglass endcaps. I put the end caps on and micro about 2 years ago....I figured it was a good time to start working them. It all went pretty good. They have a few low spots and I will micro again to get them finished up.
While I was working on them Rob texted me and offered to come over and help! Once again with Robs experience as I have stated previously, is worth having for doing any part of the build. He came and I left the HS caps for later and we went and worked to join the fairings together. He felt as did I that the fairings were at the point of doing the joining of the rear halves.
Rob cut the fiberglass cloth as I did some prep on the halves of the skirts. We did 3 layers using the plastic sheet method that he taught me and got them wetted up, laid down the layers and clecoed in place. When they cure I will remove the fairings and lay some fglass on the inside of the fairings.
After Rob left I went back into the shop and continued to work the tips on the horizontal stabilizer.
