I had a lot of work to do after removing the right skirt. I use an arsenal of sanding devices and dremmel tool to get it close and work the fglass pieces into shape. This session was no different. It took a bit of time but I eventually got it done. It was actually time to start the process of adding micro to start bringing the fairings up to finish.
Up to now I have been using flox which is a mixture of epoxy resin and cotten fibers. Flox is a structural mix that is very strong AND VERY HARD TO SAND!!! Micro is a mixture of epoxy resin and small glass bubbles (they are like a powder.....very important to use a mask when mixing these as they are not good to breathe!). The mixture makes a non-structural blend that is used for bringing the imperfections in the fiberglass part to it's smooth finished shape.
At the end of this session I added the Micro to begin to move these fairings toward finish.
