Brief Description:  Cutting and Fitting the Canopy Part 9

I went out into the shop behind the house to cut the canopy. The shop back there has a mini-split unit to keep it temp/humidity controlled. I wanted it nice and warm in the shop so I put my portable propane space heater inside for an instant a rapid heat up. The heater gets it from 70 degrees to about 86 degrees in about 15 minutes. I just wanted the canopy to be in a warmer environment when making cuts.

The process worked well and with the cuts made I dashed back to the basement aircraft manufacturing plant and staged the canopy for sanding with the 220 grit paper. Once again, before moving it from the shop I use the electric belt sander with 120 grit sandpaper to get the egdes semi smooth prior to moving the canopy.

I will set it back on the frame and check out the fit and cuts to be made during the next session.
