Brief Description:  Cutting and Fitting the Canopy Part 7

It took a little to get the canopy clamped on properly. As I said, the canopy moves around a lot more after cutting it from the windscreen. So I played around a lot with it trying to find the canopy position where it would best settle in and be happy place. Just a little tweaking here and there.

I began to clamp the canopy. I really wanted the front to stay in position so I clamped around the front bow first. I then went to the back and started clamping and working my way up the sides with clamps. As I was going from side to side I noticed the canopy buckling around the middle of the side. Not good. I loosened the clamps and removed all but two clamps off the front bow. I began again clamping the rear bow and working forward. This time there was no bowing. Removing all but two clamps from the front allowed the canopy to "flow" around the frame as needed to find its place.

That worked quite a bit better and when beginning to survey the situation, I found that I had a good inch from finish on the sides where the plexi needed to be cut. I marked the cuts that I will perform on the next work session.
