Brief Description:  Cutting and Fitting the Canopy Part 6

Continued fitting the canopy. This session involved putting the canopy back on after sanding the edges. After making THE BIG CUT the canopy portion becomes very flexible and taffy like! Due to the inflexibility of the canopy when it is in one section it is far more rigid. After the cut is made to separate the windscreen portion from the canopy portion the difference is night and day.

To get the canopy set in the same place each time when putting it on and taking it off, index marks placed on the canopy frame worked well. It is an idea I got from my buddy Jims log and seemed like the most logical thing to do.

I placed tape on the front bow and made marks on the right and left sides and then simply marked the bow in the back of the frame in three places. I then set the canopy back on the frame and when I had it placed where it sat well, I made marks on the outside of the canopy to line up with the marks on the tape. Now the canopy should sit real close to the same place every time it is put back on the canopy frame after being removed.....at least that's the concept!
