I drilled all the 3/32 and 1/8 holes through the Canopy Rail Cap. Next I bent the canopy rail cap to fit the bend in the spacer. I had to massage the bend and it took a little playing around with it, but it finally came out well.
I fit the canopy rail cap over the canopy rail spacer and after getting the cap fit in position fore and aft, I used the line I marked on the centerline of the canopy rail spacer to center the holes from the cap and cleco clamped the two together. I used some additional clamping around the bend radius and the very front to make sure it was all tight.
After the two parts were mated well and centered I clamped the rail assembly to the bench on a couple of spacers so the clecos would be clear of the bench and support the rail assembly from bowing while drilling.
I started from the front just behind the bend and worked back toward the rear of the rail assembly. After getting a few holes finished it was time to quit for the night.
