Brief Description: Canopy Slide Rail and Spacer (cont)
I spent the session attacking the deburring of the canopy slide cap and the canopy slide spacer. Next instead of drilling the cap I decided to mark the centerline on the fuselage and on the canopy slide spacer. The fuselage centerline is determined by pulling a string ( fishing line for me) from the front of the bulkhead just behind the back seat at the F-807 Bulkhead to the F-810A Bulkhead in the empenage area. Running the line was fairly easy.....I then made marks carefully along the line and then used a metal straight edge to mark the fuselage centerline.
Next was a call with my buddy Jim to ask some question I had that the Vans canopy manual instructions didn't make very clear. Conversations with Jim lead to many different subjects and it was time to finish up for the night....and I had all the intell I needed.Thanks again Jim....affectionaltely known as Private Landmine, UVAF.....he keeps us out of trouble that are behind!
