Lots been going on in the realm of family and home life. Work in the shop has been on the back burner lately. We had my wife's aunt in the hospital with a blood clot.
We planned to go to Sun n Fun this year and it happened that she went in the hospital. So since we are her only relatives we also take care of her when issues arise. So it worked out that we were going down to Florida at that time. We ended up dealing with hospital and rehab matters. I was able to go to SnF one day. It felt good to be at an aviation event again!!!
We headed back home since the aunt was going to be in rehab for about a month.. My friend Rick emailed me about making a couple of holders for putting on door straps on the doors for the RV-10 he is building. Spent some shop time making those on the mill machine.
My grand daughters had a toy that they love, but little Isla loves to grab the wires on top and rock violently....the toy would tip over and of course crying would ensue. Anyway...a sheet of aluminum and a couple pieces of angle aluminum riveted to the sheet and then nutplates and screws through the sides and it stopped the unusual attitudes (and the crying!) Now they must step on the aluminum which gives weight and a whole different leverage point.....worked fantastic...and I was able to whet my do some shopwork whistle!
