I was looking to hopefully spend a full weekend building over the holiday. I was going to go to Venice earlier in the week and work out of that location, but there was just too much going on at work to leave....so my wife and I were heading down to celebrate Aunt Tonies 89th birthday that took place on August 22 while I was away at work in OKC. We always go down to celebrate with her but this year work schedule could not be accommodated. We had a great time celebrating with her. It has been a rough year for her in the last 12 months. She survived a treadmill accicent that took almost 3 solid months of hospital and rehab. Then it was a bout with sepsis that came in the early months of 2018 that was very serious....it was really touch and go on whether she was going to make it.....but thanks be to God she did!! She is getting around very well and we had a nice birthday celebration.
As a bonus Gary Palinkas called me and asked if I would be interested to go for a Saturday morning formation flight with a couple locals Lonn and Dave. It took me all of a couple seconds to make the decision. We had a simply fantastic flight. It was a little hazy in the thick Florida summer air but with Gary flying lead and Lonn and Dave on the wing it was absolutely fantastic. I got so many great videos and pics I literally had the Iphone plastered to my face most of the flight. I was able to get a few pictures of Gary flying lead from Pat who came down to ride with Lonn in his RV8. Dave was flying his single place RV3.
Sometimes life takes time away from building....but that is part of the E/AB journey!
