I completed the dimpling of the left elevator skin. I ended up having to make one E-720G stiffener. All the stiffeners came out with holes perfectly round.....escept the one "G" stiffener had 3 bad holes in it. I ordered all the stiffeners from Vans with the elevator skin as the price was very cheap. Making the stiffiner was straight forward....but I had to refresh myself on the process that was so familiar six years ago. In short order I had the new one made and primed so it could dry while I riveted the other stiffeners on the elevator.
After the dimpling I cleaned and prepped the elevator for priming. While it was drying from cleaning and while the primer was applied and drying I spent time prepping other interior skins which I will put in a seperate log entry.
After the primer was good and dry I got set up to backrivet all the stiffeners. All the stiffeners fit perfectly and were riveted successfully. I also riveted the E-615 elevator trim access doubler to the elevator. The elevator is ready for the bend on the next session.
