Brief Description:  Rear Baffle Flanges

I started the session by removing the two rear baffles....which involves a lot of twisting and turning.

I then placed the flanges in the locations that I had determined and began to mark them and determine the center location of each. I ended up making another adjustment on the large flange for the oil cooler. The large 4 inch duct sits right up against the oil filler tube. I didn't want the scat hose to push and apply pressure to the filler tube so I moved it outboard just a little more and moved it up just a bit. I then re-installed that baffle to double check the fit with the flange and hose to make certain there were no conflicts.

Everything checked out so I removed the baffle once again and marked the cut for the oil cooler flange. Due to the location of the flange and the edge of the rear baffle and side baffle rivet line I couldn't make a complete circle but had to make a straight cut on the outboard edge.

Next I set up and cut the two openings for the PMAG cooling flanges and then cut the hole for the heater duct flange. All the flange holes are cut....all I have to do is get the ignition wire pass thru's drilled and cut in their positions.

Later on sitting at my desk I decided to do some cypherin and found that the hole area was only reduced from 11.640 sq/in to 11.170 sq/in or a loss of 4% area in the opening......yeah I am NOT worried about losing the opening area! PS....cypherin not included in build time....it's to turn in for extra credit haha!
