Brief Description:  Trip to DFW Novak Aircraft Factory

I was able to make a trip to the Novak RV8 Shop in conjunction with a work trip after some two and a half years of no travel due to covid. I traveled down on a Thursday and headed back out on Sunday for the work trip.

We had about two and a half days of work time and we both had the mind set that we were going to get as much done as we could during that time period. Well when all was said and done we put in about 25.2 shop hours in during the 2.5 days. What a jazz and a great time spent getting work done and making progress!

Jim had a list for us to pick from to tackle during the time we would be working together. We began with RG400 Coax Cable and Jim the Researcher jotting down measurements trying to figure out if we had wire enough to get all the runs. Looked like we would be short but in the end it worked out that we had JUST ENOUGH! We got all the coax in place and all but one end on due to lack of supply. We went on to completely installing the ELT, wiring and antenna. We got the pitch sevo and wiring along with the trim run installed. We got the battery tray re-installed along with tying all the wiring to the fuselage. We ended by getting the pitch contol rods installed. The entire tail section is really complete with very little but a couple items left to do.

It was very long days but we had a blast and it is always fulfilling to see progress made on the project!!! Go git em' Jim!!!!!!
