Brief Description:  Cowling Spacer

I continued on the cowling spacer that I am making for doing the work on the fiberglass cowl for the airplane.

I made the spacer for the fixture that will give me the distance I need for the cowling to spinner gap which will be about .200 which is kind of inbetween 3/16 and 1/4 inch. The outside diameter will locate the spacer on the backplate that I already made and the inside bore will locate the entire cowling spacer unit on the center propeller hub boss that passes through the ring gear.

There are two sets of tapped holes.....one set for holding it to the back plate and another set to hold on to the front plate that the cowling will butt against. I have to put in 3 pins to the spacer that will locate the front plate that is 13" right on center to keep everything on the unit concentric.

I also been having fun getting used to the machine....I really like the improved functionality.
