Brief Description:  GPS hole in top skin / Cowling Spacer

Since I have the AOA bracket ready for installing on the top skin glare shield I figured I may as well get the GPS antenna mounted also. I pondered various ways that I could get it mounted using the small screws provided by Garmin.....but after spending a while thinking I decided to drill the hole for the connector and I will simply use a piece of velcro to hold it in place....sometimes the simplist is the best way. The way the antenna is made will allow the hole to be covered by the antenna when in place.

I then got working on the cowl spacer that I will use to set the cowl in place and do all the trimming and cutting. Granted....it's probably a little overkill.....but it also will get me familiar with using the upgraded control on my Prototrac CNC mill that I need more familiarization with since it has a different keyboard and functions.....so it will be dual purpose project.

I began by programming the back plate that will go on the face of the ring gear/prop flange. Getting used to the programming on the new keypad had a bit of a learning curve but I finally got it done and tested. I began cutting the part.......as usual the cutting will probably take less time than the programming. I did begin to get faster as the learning curve lowered.......so by the end of the session I had the part half made.
