Worked on machining the plate that will mount to the smoke tank and hold the pump motor to the tank. The kit offers rivnuts and screws to hold the pump down using 3/4" square tubing to place the pump on the tank. I am putting these screws through the plate and will glue the plate to the tank....it offers a lower profile and ease of installation in my opinion.
So I located and drilled the stud locations. Then I used a countersink to get the screw heads flush. I then tapped the holes in order to screw the screws set into the countersinks.
I then used a small chisle and punch to lock the screw heads from turning as I tightened the nuts on the pump motor during installation. They should hold well.
Next I used a carbide burr and roughed up the back surface of the plate in order to give it some good teeth for the epoxy to grab onto when I mount it.
