Brief Description:  Pitot and OAT Probe Wiring

One last area to address was the Pitot Heat wires and the OAT Probe wiring.

I ran the pitot heat wires in the wing and have the wiring outside of the wing root area coiled for when the wings get attached. I have since decided that I don't want to crawl into my cockpit area with my 6' 2" frame and try to run wiring to switches so I am running wires from the ground and switch out the side of the fuselage so I can use a couple knife connectors and connect the switch and ground wires with the wires in the wing after the wings are attached.

The second issue was the OAT Probe. I was going to origonally install it in the NACA vent on the left side of the fuselage, but when I discussed it with my friend Rick (that is where he placed his in the RV8) he said he wouldn't do so again that he would place it in the wing. It really is better there as it is in "clean air" away from engine heat and exhaust.

I went out into the shop and worked on the wings for a little bit with the pitot wires, The left wing still had a wire from the Duckworks light and I trimmed it and will use it for pulling the light wires for the wing and tips when wings are installed.

I then pulled wires for the OAT and Pitot power and ground wires through the left side of the fuselage wing root and routed them up to their respective locations. That SHOULD be all the wires that need to be staged for the wings. The only other thing I have to stage to mate with the wings is the two 1/8 inch tubes for the AOA installation.
