Brief Description:  Panel Indicator Lights Dsub ground

I continued on the panel indicator lights ground Dsub. I found some lengths of 22AWG black ground wire that I could use to cut out nine pieces of wire in order to put pins on and then connect them to a single wire to the ground block.

I cut the pieces and put the pins on the for the Dsub. I then found a solder sleeve that would fit the budle of nine wires and using a piece of 14AWG ground wire that I have I got the wires inside the solder sleeve and used the heat gun to shrink and melt the solder. I have used these solder sleeves several times.....for certain applications they work great! I didn't want to run all the wires to the grounding block so the Dsub was Ralphs suggestion and I implemented it!

After getting the solder sleeve on I used my ammeter to check that I had continuity on all the pins and the ground wire on the other end. All tested good! I then slid an extra piece of shrink wrap over the solder sleeve for good measure and tested for continuity once again.....all good.

I then mounted the Dsub in the airplane and routed the single ground wire to the instrument panel ground block, printed the label and installed the fast-on and shrunk the label in place. Now I need to pin and wire the lights themselves.
