Brief Description:  Labeling Panels #1

I decided that today I would begin to get the labels on the panels. I pulled down the instructions from the ReproGraphx (https://customrubontransfers.com/) and read through the process. I also contacted by friend Jim to get his "practical experience" gouge before getting started.

I began with the left eyebrow panel to do the simple labels first and work my way up to the more difficult ones as I build experience. The process works well. You cut out the label you want which consist of the label laminate and a parchment type paper under it to keep the label from sticking to anything. You lay the label where you want it and get it all aligned and then I place a piece or two of scotch tape to hold the label in place depending on the size of the label. Next you lift the label and slide out the parchment paper and carefully lay the label down in a manner that keeps the label flat from one side to the other while laying it down. You DON"T want the label to touch before you want it to or the labels will stick immediately and you could mess it up. I generally hold up the non-hinged end and slide my finger side to side to lay the label down from one end to the other. It really works great because the laminate that the labels are printed upon is thick enough to keep them from getting messed up. Then you take a burnishing tool and transfer it to the surface. After that you remove the laminate and put the parchment paper back on top and burnish it again.

After getting the left eyebrow panel complete, I moved to the right one then to the right console panel which I needed to use a process to get the various colors on things such as the Ignition label.

The process takes a bit of time to do correctly but I absolutely enjoyed doing it and the results are nothing short of FANTASTIC!!!!
