First on the agenda was modifying the Molex pin crimpers I have in order to make the jaws just a little thinner for crimping the .062 molex pins. I ended up removing about .025-.030 from the jaws which is about 1/32. I then went back to the Suntail strobe and crimped the remaining 3 pins onto the connector.....the modification on the crimpers was WELL WORTH the time and effort.
I then continued on working on the routing for the three wires that will control the nav/strobes-wing landing lights-wing tip lights. I really needed to put another snap bushing in the left gear tower so I found a good location and contorted myself to drill the bushing hole.
I also wanted to protect wiring that would come through the second lightening hole from the top on the gear tower so I grabbed my Grommet Edging. I really love this stuff....you can really protect wires from chafing and avoid "sparks in the dark" from ruining your flight. Anyway using the simple math formula (πD) I got the length of 9.424 for the grommet. I cut it at 9.4 and it fit perfect.
I ran the wires up the gear tower and across to the switch area. The green wire in the strobe light will run to the right side of the panel as I am putting a switch to sync or unsync the strobes. I will now measure and cut the length of the wires so I can run the right side.
