Brief Description:  Wing tip ribs and COAX Cables

I had to go to the "big city" for a doctors appointment this morning and I needed more primer so I picked some up and started this session by priming the wing tip ribs.

Next I moved on to installing the connector on the GPS coax that sits on the turtledeck mount that I made. In homebuilding there are a number of times where "should have" comes up......"I should have done this or that...." well I ran the coax for the GPS antenna and used 3 adel clamps to secure it to the top of the baggage compartment. I left the most forward clamp off because I knew I would need the slack to put the connector on when the time came. Well I should have put the connector on before attaching any of the adel clamps to give me plenty of slack. I was able to install the connector but it would have been easier and taken less time had I done it prior to installing the clamps.

Anyway I got the connector installed and using a long lead I made some time ago...I checked to make sure I had continuity.......which at first I didn't. The reason wasn't because I messed up the connector I mislabeled the coax wires that go to the panel. I ran a continuity check and found three of the coax cables mislabeled(they were labeled by "edumacated guess" because I planned to run a continuity test anyway). So after getting them all sorted out I reinstalled the connector and immediately got continuity!

Next I installed the GPS antenna to the mount and torqued the screws to about 13 in/lbs as the indtructions call for 15 in/lbs max.
