Brief Description:  Various Avionics Items

Had a great session in the shop today. Mostly working on avionics or items related to avionics and electrical installation.

I was working on the GIB stick which has the PTT switch only. It's always a little bit of a challenge to do in that you have to keep enough slack in the wiring for the stick to move about its full range of motion, and yet not allow the wires to chafe on anything while moving. Also getting the wiring routed in such a way that there is minimal bending with stick movement so the wires don't get fatigued and break. I also installed the molex connector for the PTT switch. It just seemed to be the best solution. I was considering using D-sub pins without the D-sub shell or possibly knife connectors....but in the end the two wire Molex seemed like the best choice.

So over the process of the day I got that done. I also was in charge of doing all the machining on the stick and AMP bracket and other sundry items while Ralph was working on the electrical and avionics elements....see next log.
