Brief Description:  Remove Powder Coating & Flap motor wiring

My friend Rick was here and mentioned to me that he was getting his canopy handle re-powder coated in the near future. He also told me of the modification that he made to his handle that it wouldn't stick out so far. That sounded like a great idea to me so I am modifying mine also.

I started by removing the powder coating tonight. My searches revealed that burning powder coating off with a plumbers torch worked fast and well. Well I have an oxy/acetylene torch in the shop so why not use that? I did being careful not to over heat the handle and it was amazing how quickly the powder coating burned off. It was a nice day and I had the garage door open and the large fan on for plenty of ventilation. Once burned off it was a matter of using some scotch brite to remove the ashes and it was down to bare metal! The method worked excellent!!!

I then moved to working on the wire routing for the flap actuator installing a couple of wire tie downs to hold the wires in place.
