Brief Description:  Wing Tips rivet hinges

I had the wing tips prepped in the last session in order to make tonight a full session of getting the hinges mounted to the wing tips.

I mixed a batch of my old proseal that I am using far past the expiration date.....it works great for everything except sealing fuel tanks ( and may even work for that...but I wouldn't take the chance!)

I cut a plastic trowel about an inch wide and used it to apply the proseal. My aim was to place it between the rivet holes and allow it to squeeze around the area as it is ckekoed and riveted. So I did one wing tip at a time. I applied the proseal then removed the tape....it left sharp lines a little bit wider than the hinge.

Next it was placing the hinge on and cleko it in place. I then flipped the wing tip and did the other side. After doing both wing tips with that process I riveted the four hinges in place. The result was there was little mess. A quick cleanup with wiping the rivet heads with "Goof-off" which is my go to product for removing proseal and after all the riveting it took about five minutes to clean a few spots of proseal off the back side of the hinge and eyelets.

As I said the proseal was just an added measure for keeping the hinges from "working"....using the tape and keeping the proseal off the holes made for a real clean result.
