I continued on the wingtips today in order to try to get them closer to being completed.
I began by riveting all the hinges to the left and right wings. Out of 144 rivets installed I only had one goof up and had to drill that one out and install a new one.
I moved on to the wingtips and countersank all the holes in the tips. I left the hinges in the wing tips while countersinking them as it added rigidity to the process. I countersank them just a hair below the surfact in order to cover them with micro.
Next I removed the hinges and deburred all of them. The wing tips are ready for riveting the hinges. I will use some proseal adhesive also between the hinges and the fiberglass tip to assist in getting a good bond due to the possibility of the rivets wanting to pull through the fiberglass. It is not that probable that they will but just some extra assurance.
