Brief Description:  Wing Tip Hinges Install

I knew the wing tips had a lot of work to get the hinges drilled and locked in place so I asked Rick if he would mind tackling those next. So we began on the wing tip hinge process referencing the Mike Bullock process that I downloaded and printed.

Once again Ricks experience having just built an RV10 and using this method for the wing tips was extremely helpful. The process is not overly difficult although requires constant trimming and tweaking things to get everything lined up and in its place.

We decided to work both wingtips one at a time so plenty of trimming and fitting and trimming more and fitting more. Then it was drilling, then marking holes and drilling more. Through Ricks guidance we were really able to get a great alignment on the wingtips.

Everything came out excellent. We finished the long day with both wingtips and hinges attached. I will pick up the process with trimming the spacer off the tips and completing riveting the hinges and making the hinge keeper block for installing and removing the wingtips.

A long and productive day. Many thanks to Rick!!
