I worked today on getting the wires needed to the flap actuator. I need the power and ground wires to run from the contactor board, the wires to run to the harness for flap position on the G3X, and a wire to connect to the AOA microswitch flap sensor.
After running those I pondered the set up for the flap position sensor. I had spoken with Ralph about it and did some searching on builder logs for ideas. I decided that I would modify an adel clamp and use some spare hinge pin that I have in stock to make a simple connecting rod between the adel clamp and the position servo. The servo moves very easy and only has a travel of about 1.2 inches so I will have to work on the mounting of the servo and the adel clamp to make it such that the servo doesn't use the full travel but has some movement on each end so the arm of the servo is not "bottomed out" on either end of its travel.
So in modifying the adel clamp I made a tab out of aluminum and riveted it to the one side of the adel. I will drill a hole and use the screw that attaches the adel as the second part of securing the tab on the clamp. A work in progress.
