Brief Description:  Conduit & ELT Mount

I finished up the GIB stick harness routing by getting the conduit put back in place and securing the adel clamp.

With that cmpleted for now I went back to the ELT antenna mount. First of all, the wedges simply were not going to work. The wedges have to be too thick for the antenna to be tilted parallel with the seat bulkhead. Secondly, I have pretty much decided that making the antenna easily removable in the HIGHLY UNLIKELY event of a remote off airport landing where the ELT would need a better field of view or removed to a different location....I will make it pretty easy to remove.

After searching all of McMaster-Carr site....I found three quick release items that may work. One was velcro, another a rachet cable tie, and thirdly a quick release hose clamp. I will hold the antenna in place with some kind of retainer and not use the nut on the bottom. It is grounded internally to the ELT and really doesn't need the washer and nut for grounding purposes. I enlarged the hole for the connector enough to allow the connector to be lifted through. The snap bushings will be large enough to allow the connector to feed through. That's the plan.

After experementing with the items, I pretty much liked the cable ties. They hold the antenna firmly in place and are easily released. The only thing I don't love about them is they are white.....black wasn't an option. They have an adhesive strip on the back but I am going t attach them wit a couple of 3/32 pull rivets. So that's the plan right now.
