Brief Description:  GIB Light - A/P Disc - Misc

I started the session by getting on the computer and printing a few pages of info from the G3X install manual for the autopilot disconnect and the reversionary switch for the displays to figure out how the wiring needed to be completed.

Next I went back into the shop and routed the GIB autopilot disconnect wire to the switch area and rolled up the excess. The autopilot disconnect switch works by grounding the circuit which disconnects the A/P. I began to ponder that since the switch is in the "normally open" position and will be used rarely that instead of running a ground all the way to the forest of tabs at the firewall that I would just splice the wire into the GIB light ground wire. I made a quick consult with a couple electron wizards moved forward with the idea. I cut and spliced a 20 AWG wire into the 18 AWG ground wire for the light. I checked the continuity and all checked good.

I then decided to finish up the GIB light circuit. I never installed the Dsub shell so I did so....it is small and was a bit of a pain but I got it done. Then I decided to lace the wires from the switches and socket. All is ready for installing that panel when the time comes. I still have to get the LEMO wire back to that area so I will finish the A/P and running the light wires when I get that routed.

Time seems to go faster than the progress does when working sometimes.
