Brief Description: Skybolt Flanges on Firewall #10
After getting all the deburring complete it was time to get the lower Skybolt flanges riveted in place.
I clekoed all the flanges in place on the lower left and right sides and gave them all a good check to see if they were all fitting well. I then began riveting from the bottom up on each side.
Since the flanges are not part of the Vans kit, I had to figure out the length for the AD 427-3 rivets to use. I decided on the -4.5 for the main portion of the flanges and the -5 for the flange overlapping seams.
I had to leave out the top flanges because I won't be able to rivet them on until I get the cowling fit. Same with the upper flanges.....can't do them until I get the top skin riveted on....so that ends the Skybolt saga for now.
