Brief Description:  Skybolt Flanges on Firewall #3

I continued on with the Skybolt flanges on the top part of the firewall. I made a few adjustments to a couple flanges but over all they looked good. I decided to take some photos of where the approximate split line of the cowling is located. I sent the pics to my friends Rick and Rob for their professional opinions as to where I set the flanges on the two sides to be certain that I have clearance for the side hinge.

Rob and Rick both have a lot of experience on installing Skybolt fasteners. After sending photos and texting back and forth along with Rob calling me to further discuss, we determined that the positioning of the starting flange closest to the cowling split line was good......thanks again guys!

So with everything positioned I began to match drill the tabs using baggage door strip (F-821B) that was match drilled with the top skin as a guide to lock the flanges in place. It took a bit of time to drill the 57 holes while using cleko clamps as I went along drilling to keep everything tight.

Finally finished....have to remove them to debur and counter sink the receptacle holes for the rivets. Will start the bottom portion first probably.
