Brief Description:  AOA Brackets and access hole

The manual makes a statement of making a 1/4 inch hole in a location above the AOA volume adjustment potentiometer in order to have access to increasing the volume output without having to remove the unit.....yeah...I like that idea.

My idea though was to find something to plug the hole with easily. Yes, I know a piece of tape is the easy solution....but I wanted a plug. So remembering I have circuit breaker hole caps I bought from Steins I got the measurements for the hole location and began drilling. I made the hole oversize just enough to allow the cap to be firmly seated yet be easily removed by prying it off with a small screwdriver. Drilling with a 7/16 drill makes for a nice tight fit that really requires squeezing the tabs from behind to remove the cap...which would defeat the purpose in this case. I drilled the hole final size to .453 (as opposed to .437) and then beveled the back of the hole in order to allow the tabs to squeeze as the cap is pryed up. It worked great...the cap seats well and comes out with little effort. I used a paint marker to designate where the tabs were located on the cap for removal reference.

With the angles secured to the cover and my trusty double sided tape on the bottom, I stuck the box to the location that I felt would be best. I drilled the holes and clecoed to the baggage wall.

A little more progress made.....
