Brief Description: Modify Left Sub-Panel on Instrument Panel
I had to get access for the static tube and post light wire through the left sub-panel. I looked at where I could get it from the side rail through the left sub-panel where it will be as invisible as possible.
After marking the spot I drilled through the instrument panel frame. Next I used the dremmel to slot the sides for any need to remove the static line or the panel in the future. I smoothed and finished the cutout.
I have modified the sub-panels on the instrument panel. The sub-panels are normally not removable but I cut a pattern out from mine in order to get a better fit with the top skin and also to have them removable for access behind the panel and the switches that would be installed on the sub-panels. So after modifying the instrument panel frame, I slotted the sub-panel itself in order to get the panel off without having to pull out the wire and static tube....which is a no brainer. It would be foolish to have a removable sub-panel that can't be removed readily without detaching tubes and wires.
That is finished. The wire and tube is barely noticable....mission accomplished.
