I started off doing research on my firewall passthroughs. I consulted Rick and Rob on the matter to get their opinions which have been a great help to me along the way.
After working that issue I had to correct another issue. I was so psyched to run my bus feeds to the circuit breaker panel, that I forgot that I had to put a relay in between for the avionics bus.
Prior to connecting the actual relay to the aircraft, I used my power unit and some jumper wires to make the connections and make sure I had the terminals correct and the right hookup order. Stein's has great drawings for many items when you pull them up on his sight. When you pull up the relay there is a link below that has a print for the tabs on the relay and how to do a simple circuit with the relay. Using that drawing and a small light I connected and confirmed the proper wiring.
So I got back in the cockpit and cut the wire and inserted the relay to activate the avionics bus with the switch. The relay is tucked up out of the way but accessible to get to if needed for future maintenance.
