Brief Description:  More wire routing - Center section, spar cap, fuse

I am trying to anticipate all the routing that I am going to need for the wiring portion of this project. I needed to put the holes through the center section and reviewed the locations on Option 11 print. My Vans kit is a little older (2006) and unlike the kits produced not that have these holes already placed within the center section, my fuselage requires me to measure and drill these pass through holes.

I made a little marking card with poster board that had the locations for the holes that I could just lay against the F-804 Center Section Bulkhead in each location and quickly mark the holes with a fine Sharpie. Next they were all drilled, deburred, and snap bushings installed.

I had to offset the locations for holes that are feeding through the spar cap between the armrest cubby and the rear portion of the fuse bay. I decided to use some 3/8 inch conduit to make sure wire can be fed through after the spar cap is riveted on the bulkheads. I used some RTV to hold the conduit in place on the inside spar cap....but after having it give me a fit and messy, I used proseal for the outsides, which I intended anyway because the color matches more subtily.

With those installed I decided I could have a couple holes coming up through the fuse bay frame to feed any power wires into the avionics area that go from the fuse bay.

I have to make wire routing holes for the wing wires and potentially a couple other areas.....but they are getting knocked out one at a time!
