I decided on working a small and simple project for using the actual labels for the first time. I grabbed the little harness that came with the Flight Data Systems g-meter/chrono I bought to install in the panel.
The wires on the FD harness are 22 gage and the smallest labels are 1/8 inch. They shrink real well but after cooling they loosten up. This isn't a big problem but to resolve it I took some very short lengths of clear shrink tubing and put a piece on each end of the yellow label. It worked nice since the labels can rotate enough that I can read them if they are in an awkward position.
Anyway the first wires are labeled. Plenty more to go!
I began to get on the computer and printer and play around with labels I will make for the instrument, circuit breaker, and switch panels.
