Brief Description:  Rear Throttle Quadrant #4

The first thing I began to do in this session is check out the viability of the course I had taken for the throttle quadrant panel. I got the panels for the flap actuator and the side console and attached them with clecos. I then tried the throttle panel changing several iterations to see how the fit of attachment points of the panels would be having to stack over one another.
Well no matter how I changed and stacked the panels nothing was working to my satisfaction.

I stared and came up with another solution for mounting the panel. I measured and designed tabs out of .062 aluminum sheet. I fit them around the existing nutplates that I needed to keep and removed the nutplate that I installed last session. I have room to rivet the tabs and then I would trim the throttle panel to fit between the bulkheads and attach to the tabs and the top brace on the airframe.

I cut and fit the tabs. I located them in place and drilled the attaching rivet holes. Next I marked and trimmed the panel down to fit in the location. Marked hole locations on the bottom two corners for the nutplates. I then cleco clamped the panel on and match drilled the holes to the tabs for the bottom locations. With the panel clecoed in place on the bottom I marked the top locations for the holes, removed and drilled the panel and then re-installed the panel and match drilled the top.

All looks great and ready for riveting the tabs and the nutplates next session.
