Brief Description:  Rear throttle quadrant & modify rheostats

I began by doing some sanding on the left and right sub panels to get them ready for paint. Won't be happening in the next couple days due to lots of rain. All I have to do now is get the instrument panel sanded and ready.

Next I modified the anti-rotation tabs on the rheostats by filing them down. Best process was taking the file and laying it on the edge of the bench and running the tab along the length of the file while holding the rheostat in my hand. I kept measuring until the length was correct. You can see the tabs fitting into the counterbores on the right side of each in pic #1. I tried the knobs on that I bought at McMaster-Carr and the fit and finish looks great.

I figured since I am getting ready to shoot the last of the panels and instrument panel with the remaining topcoat paint that I have I better get the rear throttle figured out and ready. I took out the throttle mount and began doing some figuring on the setup. It won't be installed via Vans method since my main throttle quadrant is not standard.....so I have to "design on the go". I think I can use the mount to get the throttle installed....but if it seems to convoluted I can probably come up with a simpler design. I consider it a somewhat "emergency" type feature because it will be seldom, if ever, that someone will actually be flying from the back....but the functionality is needed in that seat position.
