Brief Description:  Cut clearance in subpanels

Satisfied that I had the clearances for the rheostats and starter engaged light where I wanted tham I began removing material. I drilled a hole in the top center of the bottom flange where I needed clearance for the starter engaged light then cut the angles to remove the material. I completed it with dremmel and file and finish.

For the circular rheostat pot clearances I used a method that I have used a number of times in the past. I used a center punch and make punch marks around and inside the circumference of the area to be cut and then took a #40 drill and drilled holes. After that it was easy to use a burr bit on the dremmel and remove the webs between the holes. The longer part of the operation was using the dremmel to smooth down the clearance areas and get them to size.

After completing the clearances in the subpanels I then located the knobs in the center of the circles in order to make sure thay would be accessable and comfortable to operate....they were and I marked the shaft holes in the subpanels.

Will be trying to get the rest of the switches laid out for the angle panel next session.
