Brief Description:  Prep "real" panel for cutting

I was back in the shop getting the "real" panel set up to cut on the mill. I had removed the clamping plate in order to use the vise while making the brackets for the racks on the different avionics boxes. So I had a lot of cleanup on the machine.

I removed the vise and put the large clamping plate back on the machine. I then used a number of clamps to hold the instrument panel to the plate. The prototype panels were made out of 5350 aluminum which is far softer than the real panel which is made from 6061 I believe. Either way you can really tell the difference which I am glad for the additional strength of the real panel.

I had it all clamped and then made a "location hole" in my reference zero point in the center of the large and small G3X display units. These are used to make sure I have a reference to pick up that has a known value. You can see the two holes in the center of the G3X locations in pic 2.

Panel is ready to go!
