Brief Description: Finish designing and making brackets
So I had to finish up a little more drawing for the brackets. Next I went out to the shop and with the aluminum angle I selected to use for the brackets started to make brackets. The one for the left side of the GTN 650 that was next to the GDU 460 large display was the one that required most work as it had to fit in between the GTN 650 and the G3X unit. It came out good.
I marked and drilled the holes for the rivets in the brackets and put them on the boxes and set the boxes in place and transferred the rivet holes through the panel using the bracket holse. Everything fell into place and there were no issues that needed a redesign.
The GTN 650 is one heavy unit. I made a set of brackets that looked ok....but consulted with a Marco Polo video to Jim after I felt the design was flawed and he consurred. I went back to the drawing board and came up with a far superior idea.....that't the way this stuff is...keep thinking and you can usually improve the mouse trap! Long day good work session.
