Brief Description:  Prototype CB panel (cont)

Tonight I completed the prototype CB panel marking and drilling with the hole locations from the poster board layout. I used a step drill but if the locations work out good I will do the "real" panel on the milling machine.

After marking and punching the locations I used a #40 drill to put a pilot hole in the panel. Then I used the stepdrill to open the holes to 7/16 inch. I deburred and then inserted some CB's as I am going to fill the panel and put it in the airplane to see how it fits and for any issues.

I also got the relay panel in for the flaps and pitch trim. I have a manual roll trim so I have one more circuit available if needed.

My friend Jim reminded me to check my desiccant in my engine box. I opened it and looked in and the bags of desiccant beads were pretty much white. I put them on cookie sheets and baked them at around 300 degrees for what had to be a couple hours. I started at about 200 degrees but it didn't seem to be working well....so I "turned up the heat" and the beads started to comply. This seems to be the darkest they are willing to get....so I will place them back in the bags. I also ordered another 5 lbs more of blue to pink desiccant to add to the supply....a small price to pay for an expensive engine!!!
