Brief Description:  Electrical compartment mounting panel #4

This session I continued with mounting the electrical items on the panel. I located and mounted the current limiter holders. I have two holders as I am installing both a primary and a backup alternator. The primary will be a 60 amp and the standby will be a 40 amp. Rather than running circuit breakers to the cockpit the current limiters will do a fine job and really cut down on potential electrical noise in the system.

Also, in my aviation flying I have had alternator CB's pop a couple times.....they are high amperage and you don't really want to play with resetting them more than once. On ALL occasions the CB wouldn't reset or it reset only for a few moments before tripping again. To seek to get it reset will be taking a big chance of starting an electrical fire! Point is...the current limiters will work fine.

I only have one shunt block for my panel as the other shunt will come when I buy my avionics. But I used the block I have to install the position for both shunts. The shunts provide information on the alternator outputs during operation to the ammeters for the primary and standby alternators.
